§ 54-260. Parking time limits.

  • (a)

    Any vehicles parking or standing in any designated parking space in a parking meter zone shall be parked within the painted lines, if any, marked on the bed of the street or curb and, if there be no markings or the markings are covered by snow or ice, in the space between two meters, or, if there be one meter within three feet thereof, and may occupy the space during a time limit not to exceed two hours between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on any day, except Saturdays, Sundays and the following legal holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. On Grand Street, the maximum parking time is set at 15 minutes.

    (b)

    Parking or standing a vehicle in a designated space in a parking meter zone shall be lawful for the maximum time permitted upon deposit of adequate coins. Failure to deposit such proper coin shall constitute a violation of this article.
