§ 2-78. Structure.

  • (a)

    The joint recreation commission (hereinafter "JRC") shall consist of seven members. Two members shall be residents of and appointed by the village. Two members shall be residents of and appointed by the Town of Goshen. One member shall be at large and require the approval of both boards upon the recommendation for the existing JRC members. The remaining two members shall be elected officials (councilperson and trustee) appointed by their specific municipal board during that body's organizational meeting.

    (b)

    The commission shall elect a chairperson during an annual organization meeting. It is further noted that neither elected official shall qualify for the position of chairperson.

    (c)

    The commission chairperson at the same annual organization meeting shall also select a vice-chairperson.

    (d)

    Commissions shall be appointed specific responsibilities by the chairperson at the organization meeting. These positions include, but are not limited to the following:

    (1)

    Buildings and grounds;

    (2)

    Treasurer;

    (3)

    Programs and summer camp;

    (4)

    Soccer liaison;

    (5)

    Little League liaison;

    (6)

    School district liaison; and

    (7)

    Scheduling.

    The above commissioned positions shall not be static and responsibilities may be added or deleted upon approval of the majority of the JRC.
