§ 21.1. Purpose.

(a)

Once established the "floating PAC" zone will allow the village to facilitate and permit housing specifically designed for residents age 55 and older. The district will allow the village upon advice from the village planning board to evaluate the need and appropriate placement of adult communities within specific districts, which might not otherwise permit such development.

(b)

The PAC district is intended to encourage traditional neighborhood design practices and to conform to the overall character and design characteristics found throughout the village. Doing so will promote the health, safety and welfare of the public and maintain the unique historical character of the village while promoting housing for a growing segment of the current population. Additionally, the village will encourage affordability of said housing when appropriate through the granting of density bonuses to an applicant.
